Sean Penn, an enthralling actor gives a deep insight into the current scene of cinema in his interview with James Lipton in Inside The Actor’s Studio. I find his words gripping, comedic and very real. Well said.
“Something happened, I’m going to guess around 1974, from when I was a film-goer to when later I became a participant. Something happened in movies where there seemed to be the status quo that had to do with impressing the audience. I didn’t come up as an actor in cinema of expression I came up in cinema of impress and at a certain point I started to feel that I was staring at hotel room ceilings, wondering what I was doing with my life.”
“I’ve heard all the debates and the common conversation about films you know, where people very happily and proudly say you know, there is room for entertainment strictly for it’s own sake. I disagree with that. I think if you want entertainment you get a couple of hookers and an eight ball.
Film is just too powerful a medium to be just that. There’s gotta be some kind of human sharing in it; there’s gotta be some kind of journey and risk taking so that it’s exciting not only for the audience but for the participants, so that there is growth involved in it. “
I am currently…

My mother passed on this beautiful message to me a few days ago, I thought I’d share it with everyone. This is dedicated to all the beauties out there, who are strong and confident. But this is especially dedicated to those who are not, those who are lost or feel vulnerable. Hope these words shine through and help you be the great woman that you are.
“May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.”
